São Paulo, October 20, 2025 – Fius Advogados advised Fazenda Flórida, owned by rural producer Ivan Oliveira Santos, in the partnership that led to the first issuance of carbon credits from regenerative agriculture in the Americas — positioning Brazil as a “field of opportunities” in the global carbon market, especially in the year of COP30.
The project, developed by Anglo-Brazilian climate tech NaturAll Carbon, received certification from Verra, the world’s leading authority in the voluntary carbon market. The initiative is considered a milestone for agribusiness, as it demonstrates that transitioning from a background of extensive cattle ranching to regenerative practices can remove carbon from the atmosphere in a “measurable, permanent, and replicable” way.
The legal advisory was conducted by the firm’s Environmental Law and Sustainability team, led by partner Luciana Camponez Moralles, and included the expertise of partner Talita Orsini in structuring and negotiating the partnership agreements.
The pilot project at the farm in Cassilândia, Mato Grosso do Sul, involved the transition of 3,000 hectares to a production model that includes practices such as no-till farming and crop-livestock integration, directly contributing to the climate goals of the Paris Agreement. The project’s structure allows new farms to join at any time, making the model highly scalable and inclusive.
